ESL job interview question: How would you describe your classroom management?

Recommended Answer 1:

An answer regarding classroom management should be related to the teacher's teaching philosophy and methodology of teaching. It should include the teacher's classroom layout and organizational methods.

Recommended Answer 2:

Student behavior management problems come up when students are bored or do not understand, so I make sure my lessons are student-cantered and engaging the students. I also use strategies that require 100% student participation. For example, students write down their answers to questions. As they write, I monitor, considering who is getting it all right and who still needs some extra assistance. Then we develop the rules of the classroom and compare a great classroom to a not so good classroom, and what we would see in each of them.
