ESL job interview question: What is the optimal TTT/STT ratio in your ESL classroom?

Recommended answer:

The TTT (Teacher Talk Time) and the STT (Student Talk Time) ratio should ideally be as low as 30%/70%. 

If a teacher stands in front of the class and speaks all the time, the students will not learn much.
